Salem Pickup

- In partnership with Keep Salem Beautiful, meet at the Bridge Street MBTA station for a post-Halloween cleanup!
Towns across the state are proposing bans on small liquor bottles. This will do nothing to solve the problem of littering, but it will severely hurt small businesses in Massachusetts while restricting consumer choice.
Help us push back against these unfair bans and join one of our cleanup events in your area. Together, we can Pick Up Massachusetts.
We are rolling up our sleeves and organizing pick-up events across the state to solve the problem of litter. Bans won’t help, but you can.
Let’s come together to develop real solutions to make our streets cleaner, instead of focusing on one-off bans that could damage our economy.
We are a 501(c)6 organization of small businesses and retailers from across the state that is dedicated to solving the problem of litter without causing economic damage.
Small bottle bans could hurt small business revenue by 15% or more. Following the pandemic and rising inflation, this is a bad time to pinch small businesses even more.
Local bans will drive consumers across town and state lines to buy small bottles from other stores - which disadvantages small businesses in our communities.
Litter is made up of so many items like lottery tickets, cigarette butts, coffee cups, and food wrappers. It’s unfair to lay the burden of litter at the feet of small business owners. Let’s solve litter holistically.
Thank you to the volunteers that have come together to help us pick up Massachusetts
